Ardhanarishvara Part Twenty-Four

Mar 01, 2007 20:18

Previously: Colonel Sheppard, now temporarily embodied as a woman, stopped sleeping with Rodney McKay after spending a night with Ronon Dex, also currently transformed, as part of a mission. Ronon and Rodney got together, while Teyla, now a man, found herself attracted to the new marine chaplain, Captain Leitmann. In less soap opera-ish areas of ( Read more... )

The last time Sheppard looked this way was after Doranda. Oh, there's a nice comparison. He really hopes he hasn't blown up five-sixths of their relationship, whatever it is.

Oh, Rodney. *huggles them both* You do great angst.

i'm such a dufus! I read part 25 first and it wasn't until tonight that I realized there was a part 24. Basically, I loved this part as well and it certainly explains things that happened in 25. :)

Cadman and Lorne, I love them. Lorne for the brownies and Cadman for caring enough to call Kate.

Heee. When I checked my flist this morning, I saw Mona had gone ahead and posted - and all I saw was part 25, too. I had a wtf moment, thinking where was the first part of the chapter, too.

Even co-authors get befuzzled sometimes.

I'm glad to know I wasn't the only one. :) This story made my day. (not joking about that)

You're very welcome, and for me permission is hardly needed. Though I like a heads up so I can gloat.

What I really love about Sheppard is that he (she) is such an adult. He (she) immediately tries to rationalize his (her) emotions, deal with them in an adult manner -- "it's none of my business," tries to understand it, does understand it -- and reading this, I realize that's quite rare in fanfic.

And I love the "previously on Ard." I think that should become standard in WiPs.

Honestly, I didn't think you'd have a problem. You let us have Harper and change his name. But...stating it up front can save a lot of wank from people who don't know and would jump in and start with the "thieves!" accusations.

Besides, you did go there first, and a nod to a smart piece of writing is no difficulty.

Hmm, as for adult Sheppard, thank Mona and the betas who all screamed at me in CAPITOLS no more emo!John! Not that she was ever going to run get a butcher knife and a bunny to boil, anyway.

Pegasus doesn't have any bunnies.

Man - I actually got mad at Kate for making John talk to her.

I mean - on the one hand, if Cadman was like "I think he's gonna eat his gun then fair enough, Kate would & should have gone in and talked to him. But I feel like the direct-assault psychiatry falls more into the category of "yes John, everyone on Atlantis (including me) is obsessively interested in you - there is no way for you to be alone with your feelings. Anything you reveal will be treated as a symptom."

Is this behavior on Kate's part John-based or Gender-based? I've heard that girls like to talk about their feelings...Is Kate expecting more from John on that front now because he is a girl?

Also. Brownies. Awww, John. That was sad.

Also - and this is the problem I run into all the time - what will happen to my poor baby Ronon when J&R get their shit together? He will be ABANDONED and ALONE (esp. if Teyla manages to get together with the cute Chaplain - as I hope she is going to).

Did Mona promise everyone a happy ending? Because you know how I roll.

Seriously, though, Teyla is the one who gets shafted over and over again in this.

I may be in love with your viewing of Kate's 'housecall'. There's no reason anyone would think Sheppard was suicidal and it is intrusive, but it is also just another way Atlantis is different than serving on Earth: it is a fishbowl and everyone does obsessively interest themselves in the command staff. Some random soldier in tears over Reyes is okay, but if Sheppard is losing it, then they've got worry that something happened to McKay and the city is about to sink. And Kate herself must be professionally fascinated by the genderswitch and how the team and the closed society they exist in is dealing with it. Maybe she does insert herself more than a more detached psychologist would.
