This - this clerk thing - this is not what I do. This is my job.

I do many things. I write (and try to not give a damn how "good" or "bad" or "socially acceptable" it is). I walk around graveyards singing under my breath. I read tarot cards for people. This is spooky. I was thinking about this topic - how people ask you "what do you do" and what they mean is "what do you earn your money with" and not what you really do - a few days ago. And I agree with you.

Now, back when I worked at the NHM, yes, researching and designing that exhibit was what I did. It went deeper than just a job. The thing I do now as a job? Is just a job. What I do is write, and learn new things, and immerse myself into my fandoms and talk with non-bodied people. I take care of my family and friends. I fight against my inner demons. That's what I do.

Some of that is also part of who I am.
