Exactly, Mikaela.

How are you feeling, anyway? Is someone there with you?

'M okay! A little bit bored, actually...

Ashy's around a lot, and the army guys stop in and visit too.

Ah... Do you think you'll be allowed visitors soon?

Good way of putting it. I agree.

Thanks. It's a lot better than dwelling on things, that's for sure.

True. Too bad it seems people still like lamenting over it.

Yeah. Sometimes it's easier to focus on the negatives than the positives, though, especially if it brings up bad memories. I know I wasn't always keen on the holiday.

You won't be the first to notice it's a commercialized holiday.

Unfortunately, some people do let that detract from what it's actually about.

So I've noticed. Like I was saying to someone else: I guess it's easier to focus on the negatives than on the positives sometimes, especially when you have bad memories to focus on. Letting it get to you becomes so tiring, though...

What about you? Do you let it detract from what it's actually about?

Unless, of course, one avoids the community.

Then this is a recent revelation?

If only it were that easy.

Not really. I've felt this way for a few years, but all the questions had me thinking about it more than usual, and I wanted to say something. I hate seeing people feel down or bitter because of it when it doesn't have to be that way.
