You are so sensible re the running thing. I do silly things like run for an hour (not that far out of my comfort zone given that I was running half-marathon distances a year ago, but I'm v out of practice) and then can't do anything the next day. Must try to be more sensible!

*sighs* re bomb.

I have an unnatural fear of shinsplints for some reason. It's not really that sensible :)

Yay for knitting! I wish I had someone to teach me because I would love to learn. Okay, my friend Jami tried but she drives me a bit bonkers...so I don't consider that fun. :P But yay for knitting! And boo on the shin splints!

But yay for Andy won today again! (sorry had to add that Wimbledon ref.)

*muchas huggas*

Hope you've warmed up some!

Hez, you should *definitely* learn how to knit. It's an accomplishment that every feisty, fantastic woman should have. Just try to find someone who doesn't drive you bonkers to teach you, mkay? :)

(*squeees at the sight of atropos87 posting again!*

Running is a really good proactive way of dealing with stress, isn't it? My knees don't quite agree with me on that score, though, so I don't do it as often as I should like. Go you!

It's fantastic - I just wonder why I never realised it before. My knees are holding up pretty well so far, thankfully. It's just the achy shins I need to deal with :)

Go you! I'm so happy to hear that you ran 25 minutes! That's quite an accomplishment (believe me, I know)! And I agree that you should let your body rest, especially if you are feeling achy. BTW, I started feeling that way a week or two ago and decided to invest in new, "real" running shoes. I don't know what kind of trainers you are running in but I noticed an immediate difference. They were well worth the investment, IMO.

I bought proper shoes about a week ago, and I completely agree with you - they make *such* a difference. I went in quite a scary sports shop to get them, but I'm really glad I did because they spent ages with me making sure I got the right pair for my pronate feet. As you say, worth every penny.
