Two good things happened to me today.
I got my run time up to 25 minutes for the first time, which is really cool. I am pleased with myself but I think I need to cut back a bit for the next few runs as I have an ache in the front of my lower legs which could turn into shin splints if I'm not careful. But that's OK - slow and steady wins the race, right? And I need to give my body proper time to get used to this stuff.
The second good thing was that we had a work fun day this afternoon, to which I took my knitting because I didn't really want to play rounders (the alternative entertainment on offer). Lots of my colleagues were really interested and the upshot is that one of them wants to organise a lunchtime knitting group where they can learn & I can teach them. Isn't that sweet? Nothing may come of it, of course, but it was still nice to be asked :)
On the rubbish front you've all probably read about the bomb scares that we've had here today. Whilst I'm supremely grateful that they were only scares it just makes me so sad that there are people out there who think this is a legitimate way to advance their cause. However, as usual we are not afraid, and normal London life continues. Thank goodness for our vigilant emergency services, that's all I can say.
