Office Hours [10.3]

The office was still tidy, and a fresh pot of tea was ready and waiting. Ghanima was busy working away on class for Monday, filling the time between parents with reading.

[Door & post open, standard SP disclaimer applies because OMGPARENTWEEKEND EEEEEEEEE. Ghanima's conversation with Tseng is FB, anything about Elena's issues is NFB.]

Right, then. Tseng felt that he at least had to put up some pretense of being more or less responsible for the actions of his wayward Turk while he was on Fandom Island this weekend.

Best he start while on somewhat familiar terrain, perhaps. It had been a while since he'd visited the office of Reno's favorite teacher. If nothing else, it would be a moment of well-needed sanity. He hoped.

"Good morning, Lady Ghanima."

"Mr. Tseng," she answered, gesturing for him to come in and take a seat. "I was wondering when you would grace my doorway."

"Tea?"

Tseng offered her the slightest of smiles, at that, and nodded, stepping inside to take the offered seat.

"Please." And then, not more than a moment after, "So you already know that Elena is another one of mine?"

"I am not a finishing school for your Turks," she chided playfully, selecting one of the real teas from her store and starting to prepare two cups. "But yes, I do."

"It was easy enough to know she was from a similar world; her reactions to some things in class were clear markers, I've seen her move in Fight Club, and there is a certain aura about those who have stared the end of the world in the face," she continued. "Elena informed me of her affiliation last week, of her own accord."

Clay was still not exactly pleased by Savannah's post graduation plans when he showed up at Ghanima's office to discuss how she was doing in class.

Ghanima looked up as another person entered her office. "May I help you?"

"Yeah, I'm looking for information about how Savannah Levine is doing in her classes," Clay said, failing to introduce himself or even say hello. Social niceties were Elena's thing, not his.

"Good for you," Ghanima replied pleasantly. "Except that I had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Cortez last year, and I'm rather sure you are not him."

After last year's Jacen-incident, Ghanima was being a bit more paranoid about what she said to whom. An inquiring adult, as she well knew, did not necessarily mean trustworthy.

"Busy reassuring the children's parents?" Farad'n asked, finding his way into her office.

"Or letting the children hide in here," she replied agreeably, giving him a small smirk. "I'm afraid the bar will be quite full of traumatized people of all ages tonight."

"You'd think the children would be hiding some place their visitors won't be," he pointed out easily, looking at the books she had in her office. "Will you be one of them? In the bar?"

"I had rather considered taking you to Irulan's shop, or down to the beach, since you are technically my guest," she replied, raising an eyebrow. "But if you'd prefer the bar, I have no problems with that."

Zack had mentioned several teachers that it would be prudent for Angeal to speak with, in order to evaluate Zack's progress. Angeal decided to start here, with Lady Ghanima.

He stood in the open doorway, bowing respectfully. "Might I come in?"

"Angeal Hewley, SOLDIER First Class," he said, entering with his hands at his sides. "Zack Fair's mentor. I'm here to evaluate his progress."

"Evaluate what progress?" she asked, taking in the military bearing with a glance. "Academically? He performed quite well in the classes I've had him in, always very enthusiastic."

Dinah should know by now that having a high school teacher for your legal guardian made parent teacher conferences a joy. If she hadn't, Helena could've told her. As it was, here was Barbara, ready to meet another of Dinah's teachers. "Professor Atreides?" she asked from the doorway.

"I'm Barbara Gordon," she said as she moved into the office. "I'm Dinah Lance's legal guardian."

"Ah yes, Ms. Gordon, sender of emails," Ghanima recalled. "It's nice to meet you."
