Carson nodded once again. He worried that Ford had siffered some kind of psychotic break due to his torture and exposure to the wraith enzyme. "Aye, I agree with your assessment," Carson said with a sad smile. He worried that Ford would have a long recovery, if he ever recovered.

"Well, doc, you do your part with the medicine the good Lord gave you and I'll do mine down on my knees. Maybe between the two us, we can put our Humpty Dumpty to rights." He reached out and squeezed Carson's shoulder as he spoke. "You got any objection to a feller doing some fasting, son?"

Carson thought about it for a second or two. The other man was in decent enough shape mostly being compromised by his lung condition. "Fasting for how long?" he asked.

Conn wasn't exactly sure how long the fast would be. It wasn't something he did often, having been mostly in active war zones where a man couldn't compromise his abilities too much, but he found it to be of some spiritual benefit at times. "One to three days," he finally answered, "as the Spirit moves me."
