Carson checked his email and was surprised to see one from the major but it wasn't what he expected. He'd expected an update request but instead John wanted him to fly a jumper. Good lord in heaven, did the major not fly with him before? Carson just knew he was no good with ancient tech.

It will be a tight day in the infirmary with both Kate and I out flying about but I'll see what I can do but I do need to remind you that I'm not so good with this kind of thing. As for Jack flying, I check him out in the morning.

Carson hit send and thought about the mainland move. He had no doubt that it would raise the Athosian spirit but he wasn't sure about the intimate relationships between the two groups of people. He was also worried about Jack and his career.

It's a 10 minute flight, doc. You'll do fine. And, honestly, you need to get into the habit, because with people on the Mainland, they'll likely need the occasional medical run anyway.

As for Jack flying, I check him out in the morning.

I wasn't sure with the concussion that he'd be up for it. I also heard something about him having some sort of seizure or fainting spell or something in the mess hall. I don't want him flying if it's likely to put himself or his passengers in any potential danger, but if he's up for it, we could use the extra pilot.

When Rodney checked his mail, he was thrilled. He'd had way too less opportunities to check out ancient technology. Well, the cool stuff anyway, like the chair or the jumpers. There was still that curious little thing lying on some of the shelves in the store room he wanted to check, he told himself, as he quickly composed a reply to Sheppard. Of course, there was lots and lots of work to do, he pondered, but the thought of flying a jumper thrilled him to no end.

When do you need me in the jumperbay?

McKay

He was grinning like a loon as he typed his reply. Of course, Carson would be scared shitless, but -- flying a jumper! And if Carson was scared, at least Rodney had a reason for snuggling to make the ( ... )

Kate read her email before leaving the infirmary for the evening and was surprised to see an email from the major. She was even more suprised after reading the message but knew that it made sense.

I will coordinate things with Carson and will be in the jumper bay at the appointed time. If for some reason I can't be there, I or Carson will let you know.

Is there anything else that I should be aware of?

Kate

She hit send and waited for any return reply.
