"Leis," Conn said. "That might be do-able. We'll have to talk to our folks in the greenhouse, see how hard it is to do. Or we might see if the Athosians have something that would be appropriate."
"I'll bet they do," Elizabeth said, "and I don't know that it necessarily even needs to be plants. Just... something they can be given. Something tangible, to show that they are welcomed."
Chuck listened and said, "What about going to the mainland to see if there are some lovely stones? That may be something that would be a keepsake and would be something that comes from the planet. A bit like taking a shell home from a holiday."
"Let's see what the Athosians have to say about a specific gesture like that," Elizabeth suggested, "and see what we could come up with for a ceremony. Are there any similar ceremonies you know of, Reverend, that we could possibly adapt?"
