Price's grin irritated Rodney, but he didn't comment on it. He nodded distractedly and looked around the room for his toolbox. He'd dropped it somewhere, but couldn't remember where it was instantly. He considered using the time until he found his kit to call Elizabeth. But as he raised his hand to activate the radio, he spied the kit. He grabbed it, and gestured for Price to follow him.

Clearing his throat, Harvey adopted a more somber tone; Rodney may not have out-right commented on his more spirited attitude, but McKay's lack of retort put him somewhat in his place.

"Right," he said absently, hitching the strap of his bag higher up onto his shoulder. He easily fell into step besides Rodney as McKay lead the way out of the lab and into the halls.

Price wasn't asking questions, or muttering objections, and Rodney felt himself calm down a bit. A few steps down the corridor he slowed his pace. He didn't even know yet where Carson was, and he still had to talk to Elizabeth. He felt a little apprehensive to talk to Carson, so decided to talk to Elizabeth about taking the transporters offline.

"I want you to contact Dr Beckett," Rodney told Price. He could vividly imagine Carson fretting and being beside himself with worry. "I'll talk to Dr Weir about the transporters."

"Right," Price said with a carefully schooled neutrality. There was city scuttlebutt, to be sure, about Beckett and McKay - and Harvey was enough of a gossip to somewhat relish being in the thick of it all, but this was also a serious issue with the transporters and he tried to focus on that.

Lengthening his stride, he outpaced McKay to give them each a bit of privacy for their individual calls. Reaching up, he tapped his earbud and said, "Doctor Beckett? This is Doctor Harvey Price. I hear you've a bit of trouble with the transporters? Could you tell me which transporter you originally stepped into and where your intended destination was."

Rodney watched Price walk ahead and slowed down his pace as he contacted Elizabeth.

"Elizabeth, we have a problem with the transporters," he said, cutting down to the chase. "We should take them offline."
