Tim walked into the mess full of nerves and knew it was all because of Ridley Parrish. He'd led teams before and never felt nervous before. Parrish, though, aroused him and made Tim all the more aware of his status as a gay man. Traan hoisted Kia on to his shoulders and walked to the mess. He was worried about what he had seen earlier. But he knew that it was not something he could do anything about.

But now was not the time for this. Now he was here with Kia and he was going to enjoy his time with her. And it would be nice to get to know the others who would be on his team.

He walked in to the mess and dropped Kia to floor.

Tim heard a child's laughter and turned towards the sound. He saw Traan Megarren and who he assumed was his daughter. No sign of Parrish and Tormin, which both relieved and irritated him. Remembering his place in the team, he walked towards the Athosian to meet him halfway. Giving the man a smile, he said, "Hello, Traan. I'm Lieutenant Tim Miller, its good to have you on the team." He smiled at the little girl before asking, "Is this your daughter?"

Tim knew the importance of family when dealing with a team and knew he'd be getting kid friendly in no time.

"Lt Miller, it is good to meet you. Thank you for arranging this. It will be good to get to know those who I will be working with."

Then as he watched Kia run up and down laughing happily he said, "And you are right. Kia is my daughter. She is growing so fast."

Looking at her he smiled and continued, "She reminds me of her mother."

Tim nodded as he watched the little girl running about. She seemed like a happy kid and as for her mother, he was sure he'd find out more about that later. "She seems like a great kid and I'm sure she already knows Tormin. He and Parrish should be here any minute. The other person on our team is Dr. Enid Patel. Have you met her?" Tim asked trying to get a feel of how much ground they would need to cover.
