John glanced at his watch and sighed. It looked like he'd either been forgotten or Carson and Rodney were running late. ( He very carefully didn't think about why they might be running late. )

Carson grinned broadly and enveloped Rodney in a full body hug. "I'm glad," he said softly. "Thank you. It meant the world to me."

Rodney grinned as Carson hugged him tightly, feeling all warm and fuzzy. "How soon can we do that again?" He asked as he pulled back.

That pulled a laugh from Carson. "Not in front of the Athosians," he said. "Come on, let's go. We've kept the Major waiting long enough." He opened the door and, taking Rodney's hand, stepped out into the corridor.

Major Sheppard was nowhere to be found. "Major?"

John heard Carson's voice calling for him and stepped out of the door. "Down here." Part of him wanted to beg off going tonight. The Athosian area had been a place where he and Evan could be themselves. But this evening would be different, he'd be hiding again, and he wasn't sure he was up to facing that.

Carson sighed when he saw Sheppard's face. It was Evan's quarters he was coming out of. Letting go of Rodney's hand, he went over to to him. "Will you be all right?" he asked softly. "This will probably bring up a lot of memories for you."
