Day 52 - Genii Homeworld - Team Sheppard, Harmless Space Amish

By some stroke of luck, no emergencies had suddenly popped up, which meant that Team Sheppard was finally going to get a chance to head off-world again. John couldn't have been happier, because watching the other teams head out while he kept getting stuck in the city because some stupid alien was trying to eat the place was starting to get annoying

"Fun, yes. Going to meet some farmers. Tell me again, why am I here?" Rodney would rather be working in the labs, there was a lot of stuff that needed to be done, and being off meeting some idiots that still thought the wheel was such a great invention was nowhere near the list.

"You're here because you're part of the team, Rodney," John replied, still smiling. "And since the team's going, you're going. Think of this as a good way to get your feet wet on a safe planet."

"I'd much rather keep them dry here. Seriously, do you really need me?" He sighed as Ford and Teyla came into the room. "I can tell them their carts are built well. A monkey could do that. Ford could do that!"

"Hey, now, Ford's a good kid. And he's smart, too, he's got a degree in..." John paused and tried to think of what Ford's degree was in. Nothing came to mind. "Something. And yes, I need you here, because I've read too many reports where some alien statue turns out to be a death ray or something. Also, it's only fair that you come along on these missions since we're along for the technical ones."

Teyla came into the locker room to hear Rodney complaining and grinned. "Dr. McKay, I am certain you will find something of interest. I have not yet met anyone who has met the Genii and not been interested in something."
