OK, so I should have read my f'list before replying to your comment. :)
I've only heard "Haunted" but since it's on the same album as "Amazed", I guess you probably have heard it. I'm considering getting the album now, but I haven't picked up the book from the library yet and I worry the songs may contain spoilers, so maybe I'll wait until I finish the book.
Yes, I have heard it :) The whole album is in a way a companion to the novel (if you didn't know, Poe is Mark Danielewski's sister). I got Haunted from someone through YSI, loved it, and bought the album. Some of the songs might be spoilerish, although you would have to know where to look. Haunted is safe, as well as Spanish Doll.
No I didn't know that -- ooh, clever family. I guess he's the one who did the male voice in Hey Pretty, then? (Hey Pretty and Haunted are the only Poe songs I've encountered so far--I heard Hey Pretty once, something like 5 years ago on a CBC alternative music show, and have been meaning to track down her album(s) since then. Just been lazy.)
In the album version of Hey Pretty there is no male voice, but I know the one you mean (I got it from here -it's the Drive By Mix). Mark reads from the scene that the song (almost certainly) is about.
