Yesterday was the first anniversary of Paul’s return. Another first yesterday was when he made it official: “I’m quitting meat!” That last taco salad, his first bite of red meat in almost two months, made him nauseous. So, now we have another anniversary to celebrate on that day.

It’s almost eight in the evening of yesterday, shortly after dinner. I am waiting for a phone call. At which time the call arrives, my Love will clean the bedroom or launder our vacation clothes. Until then, we lay on the sofa & a quiet conversation begins....

We left Tempe at five on the evening of Friday, May 28 and returned between eight & nine in the morning of Tuesday, June 1. We covered four states to visit four national parks & several natural monuments in four days, and Paul drove 85 most of the way. We only had a vague idea of where we were going.
