The guys know, it's just that if there was going to be explanations about women's cycles, Julen didn't want the guys around, most particularly the underage ones. Both sexes would answer as many questions as the kids wanted to ask, but (like the wall in the baths) they kept intimate details to their own gender; when you got old enough you could decide what to share with whom.

I'm not really sure why, (maybe it's because I'm biased - I just adore the Marlovens) ...but I really want one of Danric's kids or descendants to marry a Marloven (Senrid's descendants). Does anyone else want that to happen?

Recently, I started watching Game of Thrones and the Dothraki kind of (a tinsy bit) reminded me of the Marlovens. The horse culture. Barbaric-in other's eyes.

How old was Mel when she had her flower day? What is the age of adulthood? In Banner,16 is when they are considered adults, is that still true now? Can you marry before your flower day occurs?

One of Danric's kids will marry someone connected to the Marlovens!

Mel was around 18. It can vary--when they are ready

Well, I haven't really thought about Senrid's descendants, because my major interest is in the 'modern times' stories, which is Senrid's time. I know he has one daughter at some point, but I don't really have thoughts about her because we haven't met her yet.
I think Danric's kids are spoken for already (some things were implied in some short stories), and I don't think the timeline stretches (much) further than them? So I'm not sure how much we'll hear about later descendants. I'm very attached to the characters we've already met though, so that's perfectly fine for me!
For shipping, I'm interested in what happens to Detlev's boys and the Sherwood girls. And later in the timeline: Oria.

I read somewhere that he marries the niece of the king of Sles Adran. Was it a marriage of love or political marriage? From your description, I have a hard time picturing him marrying anyone for love (which is ridiculous because no one is that one dimensional-but that's the way I see it in my head).

The answer is very complicated, and unfolds over several novels. But think about this: do people who project an atmosphere of detached coolness really have no passions? Or intent, however hidden?

He does not.

(Sorry I missed this--I was in the hospital at the time.)
