Crown Duel
I was just rereading Crown Duel today when a certain exchange caught my attention.
In Chapter Five of my copy (the one where Meliara get's caught in the trap), right before Mel goes on her fateful scouting mission, she has a conversation with Julen in her tent. Mel wanted to know why Hrani was unhappy, and Julen explains about her youngest starting the Waste Spell. What confuses me is that Julen checked to see if any men were listening before she explained. It was my understanding that everyone in this world used the Waste Spell, not just the women. I think I'm just trying to figure out what the guys weren't meant to know about.
