Fav Character in The Fox!

Oct 09, 2007 00:29

So, I've reread The Fox a few times now, and with each reread, I've grown to like a character more and more: FOX!
I absolutely think he's a great supporting character, a foil to Inda in many ways. I can see his logic and reasoning, and I love his background, and motives, and everything about him is so... perfect. He's got motivation and reason ( Read more... )

Fox is getting more and more appealing to me on each re-read, but I'd have to go for Hadand. I remember smirking to myself in Inda when she made such a mess of the castle defense game. She didn't really appeal to me at first, but her character began to get so complex in the Fox that she really grew on me. Even now when she's in such a strong position, she's vulnerable, but she's working to get around that.

Of course, my absolute favorite is Inda. I still get choked up whenever he wishes he was home. Yes I'm sappy.

I'm glad you like Fox--I do too. Well, I like them all.

Where they are now...I'm busy rewriting the massive Venn battle sequence, but Hadand and Tdor just sat up all night writing silly notes to each other because they can't stand the wait--Fox is running hard to the rescue of the Freedom Islands as Khanerenth tries to make a play for them--and Inda's running down a trail to the Andahi Pass, and getting occasional notes.

Ahhhhh!!! when you give little details like that it's so hard not to squeal in excitement!! Is this Andahi Pass the place mentioned in Shevraeth in Marloven Hess? I think it was Inda's greatest battle..?

Jeje is definately my favorite character. She is just awesome. (Ok so Inda is the favorite character, I just assume we are talking about second favorite character after him! :)

Jeje is totally awesome. I'm severely tempted to write some of her stories, esp. after her boys are born.

I think I'd have to say that Tdor is my favorite, and I'm always wishing there was more about her. But I do agree, Hadand and Jeje are two close seconds. It's really interesting to see how much Inda's character has changed, not just from being a Marloven boy to a pirate, but especially the recent shift in his emotions not being as hidden. I also thought it was really nice to see the friendship bond strengthen between Fox and Inda when Fox rescues him, even though there's still tension between them, it seems like there's more understanding than before. Wow, I could go on for a while, sorry.

Well, I don't find it boring--I get a chance to see what others pick up, which is of immense help.

Of course I love Inda and Tau but I really enjoy the parts with Hadand, Joret and Tdor. They are all so well written. I can't wait to hear what happens to Hadand and Tdor, I really want them to have happy endings.

The last line of the book is Tdor's.

So have you finished writing it then? Or you just know it will be?

yes and know--it's been there since the first draft, and though a lot of other things have changed (subthreads expanded, scenes developed out of references) beginnings changed to other events) that line has stood so far, and I suspect it will when I actually do reach the end.
