Who: Integra and Open! What: Integra needs to get out more. When: Nov 21 afternoon Where: The library. She's doing research on Canadian laws (ThankyouChris!) Rating: prolly g/pg Status: incomplete
Lulu had ventured to the library to look at previous records of the heads of the Emergency Planning and Preparedness Committee. She wanted to know what they'd done, how they'd done it, and how effective it was. At least recently it was not effective in the slightest. She was going to change that. And while she was here, she planned on checking something out for Moira. Some magical book she thought the library had but hadn't looked for.
When Lulu couldn't find the book in the shelves, she asked the librarian, who pointed her to a blonde woman sitting at a table with a Lot of books around her. Apparently she'd taken almost all of the books involving laws, and the records were in the back of one of those books.
"Hello!" she said brightly. Lulu thought the woman was at her Halloween party, but didn't quite recall.
There was a particularly fascinating passage regarding deployment of armed forces and Integra found herself so enraptured that she didn't notice the young woman's appearance until it was too late.
Looking up from the book, she smiled pleasantly. "Hello. May I help you?"
Lulu smiled back. Good, hopefully this wouldn't be an issue.
"Hopefully. The librarian said that you happened to be using the book I was looking for and I was wondering if you were by any chance done with it yet."
"My apologies." Integra looked down at her stack of books and began to think that perhaps it had been too much. "Please, help yourself."
At the introduction, she smiled yet again, primly, and offered a gloved hand. "Sir Integra Hellsing. I do believe I recall seeing you at the...party. Yes?" Integra could do friendly. She was right pleasant if in the proper situation.
[I'm just about to give up on LJ completely for the day *kicks it repeatedly*]oldmanadamaNovember 26 2008, 07:41:49 UTC
It seemed to be a day for new appointees of government posts, to get better acquainted with their new authority.
It still took some time for one William Adama, former (or current, depending on which way you looked at it) Admiral in the Colonial Fleet, to register that he was now a lawyer. A judge, to be exact. His father would be pleased if he wasn't laughing.
Which of course meant that if he was to be dispensing justice for a living, he needed to get better acquainted with the laws.
Hence why Adama was in the library, weighed down with an armful of old statute books. He noticed the woman at the table, and nodded politely.
"Excuse me, miss," he said. "But do you mind if I borrow a chair?"
Integra looked up, curious that she was being approached by so many. But she wasn't about to deny the man a chair (respect of the people and all.) He looked old enough to be her father.
"Please, do." She gestured to the seat across from her and Lulu, hoping the other girl wouldn't mind.
As he sat, Integra caught sight of the worn leather spines. Law books, though of a more official sort. "Are you on town council as well?"
"Thanks." Bill sat down in the offered chair, placing his little collection of books on the table. It was times like this which reminded him that he wasn't getting any younger.
"Not that I'm aware of, no," he said in response to the woman's question. "Just been appointed as the Circuit Court judge for the area. So I thought I'd catch up on some light reading." He tapped the books with a hand. "And you?"

That was good. Nice and friendly.
"Oh, and I'm Lulu, don't think we've met."
