Lulu had felt like grabbing a burger and paid, turning around seeing a new face kissing a very familiar face.

Is this the mysterious Nate? Either way, Lulu grinned, excitedly.

She walked up to the pair standing a safe distance away, not interrupting their impromptu kiss, with an amused grin on her face.

Neil smiled into the kiss, thrilled to find that the feeling it sparked was no less strong than it had been the other night. He let it linger a moment longer before pulling back, inhaling and exhaling slowly as he rested his forehead against Nate's.

Only seconds later, he saw movement from the corner of his eye and recognized the flash of blonde hair. He jerked away from Nate on reflex, but the grip on his hand remained. "Lulu! Um, hi!"

Cocking his head, Nate blinked at Neil before registering what was happening. Turning, he flushed just a bit, not releasing his hand as he scratched the back of his head. So, this was Lulu? Well she certainly was beautiful.

Lulu grinned looking at her best friend and a rather gorgeous boy. Young man. Whatever the technical term is.

"Don't stop on my account," she said, tilting her head.

"But hi, Neil," she grinned gleefully. Lulu loved when things worked out like this. "This would be Nate, then?"

The trembling in Nate's voice tore Neil's heart in two. He took his own shaky breath and pulled back enough to look Nate in the eye. He'd caused him this pain, he owed him that much. Leaving one arm wrapped around Nate's waist, he raised the other hand to touch his cheek comfortingly, he hoped. "Hey, it's alright. It doesn't matter. Don't let her get to you, isn't that what she wants?"

Nate shook his head. "No it's not alright. I've... I've made a lot of mistakes, Neil." Fuck. He needed to talk to Serena. She'd know what to do. ...Hopefully. "I should go."

"Don't!" Neil asserted, tightening his hold on Nate. "Nate, we've all made mistakes. I've made mistakes. We all have things from our past that we're hiding." God, did Neil ever know that. "Please, don't walk away. Whatever it is that you've done or been a part of... whatever you think I can't handle... well, you don't have to tell me any of it now. But I just want you to know that it doesn't matter. What matters is that you're here now and trying to put it behind you. And whatever this... this girl says about you... you're still the prince I met at the Halloween party," he blushed slightly, realizing he was letting his dramatic, poetic side through, but didn't shy away. "Okay ( ... )

Nate halted in his tracks, Neil's hand on him calming his nerves. His pulse was still racing, though. But with each of Neil's words, Nate realized that no matter what Gossip Girl said or did, he could overcome it. He'd overcome it before. He was the Prince of the Upper East Side. And Gossip Girl was his tabloid. Sure, he was mixing metaphors, but whatever.

Making eye contact once again, Nate couldn't express how thankful he was for Neil's words. At least, not with his own words. So instead, Nate let his arms wrap around Neil once more and tug him tight, his lips honing in on those soft pink ones that seemed to taste so sweet. And as he tugged on Neil's shirt, he let his lips part, deepening the kiss in a way he hadn't dared their first time.
