When Sherlock had asked Honlon to show him some of her fascinating dragon abilities, she had dragged him out of doors, ostensibly to do just that, but now they seemed to be engaged in a game of hide and go seek. Furthermore, it seemed as though it was Sherlock who was required to demonstrate his own abilities: those of observation and detection. He'd been made to allow a lengthy head start, and tracking Honlon was not easy.

However, very careful inspection of the leaves that blanketed the grass revealed a certain anomalous pattern, and this he followed to its unmistakeable conclusion. He looked up.

"Awww."
"You"
"Found"
"Us!"

Three voices chimed, bell-like, one after the other as the girl dcended from her perch--the entire stand of trees seemed to sway at the movement, smaller branches snapping as she thumped to the ground, leaving a heavy, very-non-girl shaped imprint in the dirt.

"Careful!" Kanon nearly shreiked as somewhere above them a wide tree limb cracked and landed only a foot away from the edge of Sherlock's coat. "Sorry." Shuko apologized, looking up at Sherlock with unabashed reptilian eyes. "This is why D doesn't let us get too excited you see, some of us have trouble controling ourselves."

"It wasn't me! I left the tail up to Jun-rei..."

The little girl smiled, embarrassed, "You see what it's like with these two...?"

"I think it's the tail that you seem to have trouble with the most often," Sherlock observed dryly, recalling the havoc at 221B Baker Street. "Would you like to know how I found you?"

"Oh sure--"
"--Rub it in." Two of the voices chimed, the third following a beat later with:
"I'm sure we could guess but, please, go ahead. If we are to ever grow accustomed to this form, it will probably be useful to know." Honlon plopped onto the ground to listen, sitting in a stiff seiza style--clear signal that Shuko was the one 'in charge' at that moment. The girls differed as much in voice as they did in posture and body language.
