Graveyards were supposed to be scary. Especially big, old ones like this, with headstones right out of a gothic horror. But Neil wasn't scared at all. This place, a place he'd never even seen before, was peaceful and... and safe. He thought he might have an idea of what was going on, an idea which was further fuelled by the sight of the boy at the bench.

"...Bod?" he asked quietly. "Um... we have. Many times, actually."

Bod stared at him for a long moment. Then he blinked. "Neil." Stretching, he seemed to age about five, six years, until he was the proper age. Then he grinned, and scratched his elbow. "Welcome to my home. Well. What used to be my home..." Bashfully, he said, "I'm pretty sure I've never brought anyone home before."

Neil stared back after that, eyes widening. He looked around again, trying to reconcile the image of this cemetery with the home where Bod grew up. He can picture it startlingly easily. If he looked hard enough, he was sure he could see a small, child-aged Bod running around the headstones and ducking into the mausoleum. At Bod's latter statement, he felt ridiculously touched, especially for someone who's been with this boy as long as they have been. He sat beside him on the bench and took his hand. "I'm glad you brought me. It's... beautiful."

Bod looked around himself. He didn't remember the last time he considered the place where he'd lived for most of his life. Beautiful or not, it was home, and that's all he usually thought of when he looked at it. But seeing the way Neil looked at it gave him a new perspective. "Yes... I suppose it is, isn't it?" he said, a little proudly. "The city turned it into a historical site, and preserved it, probably because it was so nice... well, that and the city's benefactor is buried here." Grinning at Neil, he said, "Would you like the grand tour?"
