Nymphadora Tonks was dealing with a bit of stress this morning.

She'd woken up on the ground this morning, around dawn, as far as she could tell. Her whole body ached, and she was completely confused as to why she was waking up at all. As far as she could remember - and she'd been over the events again several times before forcing herself to stand - she was supposed to be dead. Dead, as in not waking up on some cold crunchy ground, as in murdered in cold blood in front of her husband. But here she was, and if the pain was any indication, she was completely alive, and alone ( ... )

Well that wasn't the response she had been expecting from the stranger. Anger would've been valid, given Lily's lack of attention she'd given the turn but definitely not curiosity at being here.

And the woman's pink hair was startlingly familiar. She felt as if she'd seen a picture of her before but couldn't place her. "I'm Lily," she replied, holding out a hand. "I'm sorry about that, my mind wasn't exactly in the moment." Looking at the women, Lily inclined her head slightly. "Are you new here?"

"Lily. Right." Tonks shook her head incredulously and raked her fingers through her hair, making it stand up on all ends for just a moment. "That makes even less sense than..." But when she thought about it, maybe it didn't. The only way Lily Potter standing in front of her would make less sense would be if Tonks wasn't actually dead... which was a possibility, however unlikely.

The almost twenty-three year old witch was bewildered. "You don't mind too much if I ask your name?" People through the wizarding world had known her face and story, so she'd been told. If this woman was in fact a witch, from after her time, there would be a strong likelihood of her knowing who Lily was.

However, why would she possibly be a witch? Despite the bubblegum pink hair, there had been very few people from her world. Harry and Teddy. Sirius. The now gone Severus and various incarnations of Remus. Never anyone else and certainly never a fellow witch. Yet she couldn't help but feel that this woman was familiar because she was a witch she'd seen before, if only in photographs.
