Chloe had been doing her damnedest to cope on her own.

She wasn't a big one for asking for help, even from the people she loved. Clark had enough on his mind, and Jimmy would only worry - he wasn't to know about Krypton or Brainiac, and there was nothing he could do. She'd hoped that her rapidly-expanding database of knowledge would help her find a solution on her own. She'd hoped the memory loss would simply stop, but it was still getting worse. Jimmy, her fiance, was barely more than black-and-white facts she kept having to rememorize. Nearly every time she got an e-mail from Lois, it took her a visit to her cheat sheet to remember who her cousin was. And she knew there were still holes regarding the Luthors. Oliver Queen. Lana. Pete.

Her parents.

Clark.

It was time for Chloe Sullivan to admit she needed help. If she lost Clark completely, if she lost her memory of Brainiac and what he'd done to her, it would be impossible to fix this. She'd wind up locked in an institution just like her m...

...Who did she know who'd been institutionalized? Why did that thought strike her with such paralyzing fear?

She was reluctant to go running to the Doctor, but Owen - he was Torchwood. There was a chance he'd encountered something like Brainiac before. And he knew how to be discreet. She could only hope he could help.

When the knock came, she opened the door with a smile. "Hey there, stranger. Can't say you keep a girl waiting."
