Who: Lily and Sirius. Possible Remus? What: They really need to talk/yell/something When: Right now! (So Tuesday evening) Where: The Lily/Sirius/Remus household Rating: Anywhere from PG-PG13 due to language?
The voice in his ears shocked him out of his peace, despite having assumed this would happen sometime. Even if it meant Remus locking them in a closet until they talked, he knew a Talk was inevitable and imminent. It didn't make him any more thrilled about it.
He turned away from the snowy scene just enough to flicker his gaze over the ginger. "Dunno," he muttered. "Are you planning on introducing your fist to my nose?"
"Is that why you ran away?" Lily raised an eyebrow in disbelief, crossing her arms.
"I don't plan on it, no. But I can't exactly say that it won't happen. Especially if you continue to think that anything I've been going through has been even remotely easy."
"Not exactly. I ran away because I... needed to run away. Though the knowledge that a hex or a right hook was definitely forthcoming didn't offer much persuasion for me to stay." He sighed and turned fully away from the window to finally look at Lily. "I don't think that."
"You needed to run away? Since when was running away how you deal with problems? I know that this is hard for you, Sirius. It's why I didn't tell you right off the bat." Her gaze flickered downward before returning to Sirius. "I know that he's your best friend and I'm not. I know that you wish more than anything he were here. You don't know how miserable I was every single day when I woke up and he wasn't lying next to me. When I was in that hazy state of confusion, turning over to have to remember again that no, my husband is not here. It might be weak of me, but I lived months without him, no chance of him coming back, just wishes and dreams. You can't live on wishes and dreams. And hope is a fickle friend. There was a day when I had to come to terms with the fact that he would be here if he could. If there were any force in the world that made it possible..." Lily's voice broke, and she stopped herself, trying to regain control of her emotions. She was bloody not going to cry
( ... )
Remus' cheeks had turned a pale shade of pink, but he had smiled all the same. Embarrassed, but pleased in the same moment. "Shame on you, Sirius Black." Said still close to his lips, but then he gave him another quick, chaste kiss on his own, before straightening up again. It was then that Lily looked over and mentioned the snowflakes, and the werewolf laughed some and shrugged up a shoulder. "They are beautiful."
"So sorry. Dunno what came over me," Sirius said with a little grin, then released Remus's shirt and glanced out the window at the snowflakes in question. Despite how he admittedly could get around Remus, Sirius wasn't one to get all soppy about snow. But they were kind of pretty. All... white and clean and... glittery.
After a moment, he turned up and batted his eyelashes sweetly at Remus. He liked that they were all joking around like this, as if things could get better... were getting better. "What's for dinner, my little pygmy puff?"
"I'll make you whatever you want, my pretty pixie." He was smiling some and leaned in, as if for a kiss.. but then straightened up again, and turned to head for the kitchen, glancing once over his shoulder at Sirius. Then he flashed a smile at Lily.
Lily smiled back at Remus, following after him. "You know you shouldn't feel uncomfortable around me, right? I know you're you, but..." She trailed off her whisper, giving him a hug and hooking her arm with his. "Do you need any help making dinner?"
