He'd been pleased as could be when Alice accepted his invitation to tea, even if she had insulted the last tea party he'd hosted where she had been present. Still, that had been ages ago, and things changed, right?
Reg had found a small apartment not too far from the center of town, and still drew some curious glances as he walked to the hotel in his very brightly colored ensemble.
He spotted the blonde head right away, grinning to himself.
"I hope you have not been waiting long, Miss Liddell?" He asked, coming up beside her and starting to speak.
Alice jumped in her seat, turned to face the new comer and fanned her face to hopefully calm her embarrassed blush. She should have been paying closer attention to her surroundings. He should not have caught her off guard, but there was very little to be done about that now.
Folding her hands in her lap, she nodded in greeting, pointedly smiling and staring at the empty seat across from her.
"No, not at all. I suppose I was early actually." It was a small concession for what Alice thought would be a disastrous affair. She supposed that might be a bit too harsh on the poor man. She hadn't truly given him a chance since she'd first seen him again. There was nearly ten years of distance between them now.
It somehow didn't surprise him that she was early.
"I tend not to be early for things," Reg said, sitting down. "Waiting just wastes time." He nodded, and a waitress hurried over- Reg had been to tea here quite a few times since arriving in town, and had gained a reputation as a big tipper.
One had to show appreciation for good tea, after all!
"Tea for two, please," he said, trying to sound elegant and refined.
Alice hid her amused smile well. A waste of time, indeed. She'd rather be early for things than late. It was rude, however, she supposed she could have brought something along to keep herself occupied so she wasn't waiting for nothing. People looked suspicious simply gandering at things while keeping themselves occupied for people's arrival.
"I don't suppose that means you're never late for anything."
