Alice passed her hands down the front of her dress as she went through the revolving doors to the hotel's lobby. She peered around the tastefully decorated room with a pleased smile and chose one of the stuffed, wing-backed chairs that lay closest to the elevators. She watched as the numbers above the metal doors moved back and forth between the floors above, and every so often one would open, expelling a few people, before closing right back up again.
She crossed her feet at the ankles and pushed her hair over her shoulder. Perhaps she had arrived a bit too early, but she was frightfully nervous about how this meeting would go. She feared she'd never get a decent cup in this small town again.
