[Jim's in engineering, you can see the room behind where he sits. he looks a little tired, but his eyes are as bright as ever as he looks into the camera.]Hey all, Kirk here

[ Your glorious, amazing voice will get America's attention, and he finally responds. He's somewhere in a corridor somewhere, all in his jumpsuit, with his little alien dude by him but out of the camera view cause he's short. SHORT LIKE E.T KIND OF SHORT.
He's always happy to see you. You're his hero but he's too prideful to admit that BECAUSE GDMT HE'S EVERYONE'S HERO. Anyway... ]
HOLY SHIT IT'S KIRK; FINALLY TALKING TO US ALL, MAN. How's it HANGING THERE, DUDE? RIGHT. I'm sure you're fan-fucking-tastic, my main man. Did you say Tansei Station? Like some kind of pit stop? THIS THING IS ACTUALLY STOPPING?
[She recognizes Commander-like behaviour when she sees it -- she's been on enough ships to know someone who's used to being in charge.]
[This is fine, though. Ward doesn't exactly seem like the position is ... suited to him.]
[She's walking down to the end of Engineering she can see in the background of his video, boots clicking on the floor. It's not long before Jim is face-to-mask with a petite quarian.]
People should have things in their personal lockers to trade. Whether they'll want to trade them or not is another matter entirely, of course.
[he swivels in the chair of the makeshift work area he's pulled together for himself; looking up at his new company. he's not surprised- it isn't like engineering is exactly abandoned most of the time.
despite himself, his gaze breifly darts the length of her outfit.]
[She's not unused to people oogling her. Most people are more subtle, though.]
I guess that's true. And as for the maps - it wouldn't surprise me if there weren't any put into the system. I'm sure the hard copies have been burned by now if that's the case.
Does it count if we went to Doctor Watson? Because I did. And--and I'm not going back, thanks. Definitely going to pass on that for the...for the rest of--for a while.
[YOU SEEM LIKE A TAKE CHARGE KIND OF GUY and that means it's time for WHINING.]
Uh, yes, actually. A lot of somethings. Involving...bathtubs and...an amount of water I was not entirely comfortable with. It was not appreciated. Warning, I think, would have been nice.
Also! Did you know that noses break very, very easily? Food for thought. Added it to my mental record of human design flaws, of which there are...quite a lot. Practically endless list, here. You'd think something would've been done about it by now.

Yep. Even in the future we need to gas up.

What kind of currency will this place take? What sort of things do they typically have? I've never heard of the Tansei Station before. Have you?
[ He asks his little counterpart off of the camera. ]
Fucking.

[Even though he appears to be less than thrilled by the idea, look who's offering to be useful!]

I take it you're adjusting well enough?

There's not much difference. It was only a matter of adjusting to the height and finding my center of balance again.

Tansei station.
What value will our goods have to them? Have you been informed?

I haven't. But one man's trash is another man's treasure, regardless of where you are.
