On Thursday, my video card started crashing.

I had two hard video crashes (red lines across the screen, lockup, computer rebooted). plonq suggested that I try shutting the computer completely down for a few minutes in order to give the memory a chance to clear, just in case that was the issue. This pressed every single one of my geek buttons.

A guy figured out a way to measure distance in Wow (using average walking speed for a human), and average gravity (measuring falling objects)... He used that to figure out the average density of Azeroth, and made a starting revelation.



I am seriously geeked out right now.

I found a link to this movie earlier today, and I decided I had to share it. Even if you've never played the game, I think you'll enjoy it. It's a well-told story with incredible animation. The animator used the Blizzard models and re-animated them. (The shadows are what totally blew me away.)

Tonight, a pally in our guild asked if anyone wanted to heal Kara. My druid could use a few more badges (and practice healing with the new spells) so I said I'd go.

I AM NEVER PUGGING KARA AGAIN. I don't care who's asking or why. I'll do 5-mans, fine. I'll even do a guild run with a few pugs. But I'm never doing a full-on pug of Kara again ( Read more... )
