*David and Billie are standing outside the Hard Rock Cafe, London waiting on John and Liz. David is wearing a black leather jacket left open and a white T-shirt tucked into blue jeans. He has a cigarette tucked behind his ear. Billie is wearing a pink head band, a blue jean jacket, a pink poodle skirt, black stockings, and matching pink high heels

*she pulls up in her new Ford Shelby, and holds a finger up to David and Billie through the open window. She turns to John in the passenger seat*

We're here, love. And I know David told you to wear a leather jacket, but babe, your Life on Mars jacket, love it as I do, is so the wrong decade. *she takes his blindfold off and he sees for the first time that she's wearing a white polo shirt with all the buttons down, a sheer black scarf tied around her neck, a thick black belt around her waist and a big blue poodle skirt straight out of the fifties*

So you're going to need this. *she says handing him a wrapped box with a smile*

Well, he said to wear a leather jacket, and right now this is the only one I have.

*opens the box and stares inside, then looks back at her* Umm... *stares at her in her dress* Okay, I'm a little confused. But I guess I'll go with it. *takes off his LoM jacket and puts on the one Liz gave him*

*she laughs* Oh come on! Your party's waiting. *she says getting out of the car*

Boss, ride, Liz. I'll race you. *points at the Vanquish. *Laughs*

Well, don't you look tops!

Playing in the band

*finishes up with playing Chica Chica and a few other songs of theirs. Then goes into some Beatles songs. The crowd is getting going, and John can't help smiling as he plays, doing his best live performance*

*Dean speaks once they finished playing Day Tripper* ~Now, for a special treat for us all, well, most of us. *looks over at John* The birthday boy will sing.

*John is a little shocked, and he blushes, trying to back out of it, but Simon presses him, and then the crowd cheers for him*

Fine, all right. If I'm singing, then I'm going to pick the song. *goes to the mic, and Dean leaves the stage and goes straight for the bar*

*John looks out into the crowd for Liz* I'm going to sing a very special song... one that has a lot of sentimental value. Because it's our song.

*band starts up, and John sings:*

*she's sitting at a little table in the back, stirring her drink slowly with a straw as she watches him, smiling hugely to herself, her heart feeling full and loved, that he'd sing their song in front of so many people*

After singing

*he starts to get off stage, but then Dean stops him and asks him to talk to him privately. He looks over at Liz in the crowd, making eye contact, and then nods at Dean and follows him over to a secluded area by the bar*

What is it?

~Man, I just wanted to wish you a happy birthday. Hadn't done that yet.

For that you needed to speak with me privately?

~No, man. I have a present for you, but you have to promise not to show it to anyone. Here... *grabs John's hand and slips something into it*

*John looks at it* Oh... um... I don't think that's necessary...

~Hey, I went through hell and back to get the good shit, so you better appreciate it, mate.

*John is looking into his palm, not sure what to do yet* Well... thanks, but I don't think it's a good idea right now...

~Why? Because of your woman? Mate, who wears the trousers in your relationship?

*feels annoyed* I.... well, I do!

~Then take it!

*John quickly looks at the crowd, then puts it inot his pocket*

~Shhh! *leaves because there are others coming over to talk to him, and then Dean ducks away*

*sighing, John slowly makes his way over to another friend he sees, looking around the room, trying to decide what to do, then he sees Liz so he makes his way toward her*
