Post-It notes. That's what we write on. Messages and lists and vague speculations. There are Post-It notes sized for any occasion. I wouldn't be surprised if one day I looked in the recycling bin and found the great American novel written on a stack of the medium sized yellow Post-Its, still stuck together and accidentally discarded since, in ( Read more... )

I missed my brother's graduation because I am the worst sister ever, but his guest list included some pretty fun people even without my smiling countenance. He wants money. I am uncomfortable with giving a sibling money--it doesn't seem my place. But I have to find something brilliant for him to make up for not being there, and I'm not feeling very brilliant.

Money is NOT! NEVER! an appropriate gift from a sibling. Don't even go there--think! Send him a poem or some such.

I posted "The Whiffenpoof Affair" at The Chrome and Gunmetal Madhouse. It's a bit revised, so it doesn't sound like a kid wrote it. Or as much like a kid wrote it. I didn't include the title or my name in the text because I. Am. A. Moron. Thanks for confirming my initial instincts. I don't know how much he'd appreciate a poem, but I'll find something for him.

And thanks for for the positive comments. I changed the opening scene to coincide with your earlier observations, re: Napoleon's intelligence level. Thanks for the help, and I'm glad you showed your smarts in Jeopardy!

Just wanted to say that the more I look at your avatar, the more it looks like you. It's getting a little creepy. I think its eyes are actually following me around the room.
