Gas pain

Gas today? $4.75/gal. An increase of $0.10 in a week.

Almost $60 to fill up my tank.

*sigh*

Something's got to give. It's directly impacting upper-middle-class at this point, and people haven't yet gotten the splash-back of the effect of this on the economy.

Bastard hedge-funders!

I noticed over the past few weeks that generally everyone is driving more slowly on the freeways. Normally, the speeds are in the low 80s when there is light traffic but now I seem to be averaging 65 when I am going with the flow.... Of course rush-hour speeds are more like 1-5mph ;)

A month ago gas cost $3.83 at the Costco in Poway. A week ago it was up to $4.21. So that's a price jump of almost 40 cents in two weeks.

I need to fill up both gas tanks for both of my cars (my 90 Miata and my 97 Rodeo) and I'm afraid of what the cost is now. It cost me $38 last time for the Miata, $55 last time for the Rodeo.

I found a gas receipt from 4 years ago while cleaning out an old purse, and the cost to fill up my Miata was $23. I remember balking then, when gas was $2.30 a gallon...

I gave up going to Costco for gas as the lines are nearly 45 minutes long...
