Everything linked to a nice, safe scientific causation? That's got to be all safe and snug.

You are far to young to be tossing any of your dreams away. If someone out there is telling you that you can't do something, ignore them and do it anyway. Really. Just do it.

As far as running goes, it's a nasty habit I never engage in myself, but the running track around the softball field at UofL is usually kept free of snow because of classes and such. I mean, probably not "today - the day the blizzard hit" but surely by tomorrow. Anyone can use that.

Be at peace, sweet prince. There are more things in heaven and earth than can be counted and many of them are quite lovely.

Well said. Keep on keeping on. You're younger than me, fer crying out sakes, and I just started book two, going as strong as I can. I know you're down, but I'm betting it's temporary. It IS the middle of winter, after all. Everybody gets down in the winter.

My mother went back to medical school after us kids were raised. She became a doctor at age 60.

My sister is working on her getting her doctorate in biochemistry at age 36.

A woman that I went to writers group with started writing at age 63 and got her first book published at 66.

I would like you to tell me exactly why you will never do actual research in astronomy/planetary sciences. Is it because you no longer want to? Is it because you have given up that dream? Is it because you feel that the options are no longer open to you?
