Well as my 34th birthday quickly approaches I’ve decided it’s about time I stopped moaning about all the bad things in my life and do something positive about them. The first step in all this is to sort out my weight once and for all.  There are a huge number of reasons for making this the first step but the main ones are

My housemate did Lighter Life and lost five stone. She recommended it to my other housemate, who's currently on it...I think the hardest thing for her was giving up the alcohol!

That's not a problem for me as I don't drink much anyway.

There seem to be a lot of people who have sucessfully done the programme, but good to hear of someone else.

Ooooh let us know how you get on. what if you get absolutely starving - are you allowed to have a ryvita or something? And also, is it liquid like slimfast? Because if so, after 14 weeks of liquid will you have to wean yourself back on to proper food?

I signed up for nutracheck. I've lost a pound so far after a week, not a lot but I'm trying to cut out my junk food.

Nope you can only have the meal replacements. There are Shakes and Soup which you can have 3 or 4 of a day and there are also bars which you are allowed one away. If you have a bar then you only have 3 soups/shakes.

After the first 14 weeks you either continue on the abstiance programme if you have more weight to loose (I think i'm going to be on it for between 9 and 12 months) and then you move onto the maintain programme or move straight onto it and start to reintroduce food back into your diet.

I've been investigating it online and talking to people who have done it and it seems that most people keep most of the weight off, so i'm hopefull. I;m investing a lot in this and I don't just mean the money!

I've lost just over 7 stones in 25 weeks - just think - by the Christmas Party you could be that much lighter!

I'll probably have done about 28-29 weeks of full abstinence by the time I get to route to management. Keep at it girl - I know you can do it!

Thanks for the link and the encouragement. I had a bit of a wobble this week but i'm back in the zone now.

I've got a specific LL journal too at Asty_Wal_diet but it's good to read yours as you seem to be having some of the same challenges as me.
