Okay, this is the best thing ever! Passing this on from memorycharm:

If you use Firefox, you can install the Greasemonkey extension and then use this script to unfold comment threads -- ie, it ( Read more... )

Yep, worked like a charm, both greasemonkey and the script -- windows xp pro with sp2, firefox 1.0.4.

You have just made me very, very happy. I don't have Firefox, so I hope they hurry up with giving us the "flat" style! I've read Koi's comment some time ago, and I totally agree.

Oh nice! Thank you so much for the information, this collapsing of long threads has been irritating me big time but I never realized I was not the only one to be irked by this issue; this is a very nice solution to this LJ problem.

The only problem? I am now addicted, have tested and am using several more very useful scripts (the ones for www.yahoo.com in particular are great).
