I heard about that art class too but was more frustrated that vidding requires so much clipping (especially for TV sources which I'm mainly interested in) that turning out a large number of vids is hard unless you have a lot of time. But I think the big takeaway is to not try to focus on just making something "great" but to keep making things to practice getting better. Still working on that slowly but surely :)
Not that I'm saying this would be easy, but what about using the same clips in a themed 'collection' of short vids, just framed differently? Like you use a clip that's a long range shot, but in one vid it's framed to show the reaction of one of the background characters rather than the character(s) that's the focus of the scene in the show itself? Things of that nature.
I saw someone else had tried this out. I had a whole bunch of POI WIPs I was going to finish off during summer hiatus. Now it seems I could try this to get at least 10 done before the start of season 3 :)
