Thanks so much for the feedback!

And yeah, darkness is a common issue when watching online vids, since computer screens tend to display darker than TV sets -- you might try adjusting the gamma or the brightness/contrast settings on your monitor, which can help. (In Windows, the Display control panel usually has these settings accessible in the advanced settings section, depending on the computer's video card.)

Well, I hope you know already what I think about these, but there's nothing wrong with telling you again, right ( ... )

*mwah*

I think there was one solarized effect left in there, but we mostly used find edges. N can tell you more about how we used it. ;) I'm proud I know the name and approximately where to find it. LOL.

AHA! When I last used "find edges," it was in Guilty, and I had solarized the image first. No wonder I didn't recognize that effect!

Thanks!

No! Nothing wrong at all! Tell me and hafital all you like! *happy*

I would love to discuss clean vs. messy -- I feel like I know what you mean, without being able to exactly articulate it or put my finger on it. Panel for next year? *g*

And yeah, like hafital said, that's find edges -- normally it creates neon-like outlines, and then we inverted it in some places, which is how we got the white with black outlines like in the clip with the calligraphy, and by changing the amount of blending we could control how much of the original clip showed through. It's a really cool effect.

I watched touch me fall and liked it very much. I'm sorry that I don't have any specific feedback, but I never know what to say about vids. Either I like them or I don't, I'm never quite sure why my reaction is one or the other (unless there's something really glaringly wrong with a vid). BTW, simple clean sites have their own minimalist beauty especially nowadays when they stand out so much amidst all the graphics heavy sites.

Thanks so much! Even hearing just that you liked it is great. :-)

(And hey, I will take a moment to insert a VividCon plug here -- chock full of panels to help you figure out why you like some and not others! Well, to some extent, anyway. *g*)

And yeah, I do like plain sites myself, it's just looking a little messy to my eyes now -- I'm thinking less about adding graphics and more about spiffying up the layout.

Yeah half my friendslist gushed about last VividCon (see a slightly green, envious ratcreature here), it's just the whole transatlantic travel thing that would have to come before my attendance, and unfortunately my finances aren't so great right now.

Just watched touch me fall great song...and very very appropriate. I'm not a mushy person but that vid.

Charles/Erik theirloveissotearjerkinglytragic The video captured it perfectly. Great images choreographed with the music. The only issue I'd have would be a few dark spots but fiddling with the monitor fixed the problem.

*beams* Thanks so much! One day I'd like to do a strictly X/M vid, too -- maybe X3 will provide enough source.

I'm really looking forward to watching these later this week when I have d/l capacity again. I have heard so much about many of them in the VividCon reports.

I noticed in your system specs that you use an LCD monitor. How was that worked out for you? I'm debating between upgrading to a larger CRT or getting a same-size LCD right now. I'd prefer the LCD for size and energy issues, but I hear a lot of horror stories about how the slow refresh rate makes video look blurry, so I'm curious about a vidder's perspective.
