Smallville: Looking Glass Country

This story was started in July of last year, vroomed along happily for a while, and then I discovered I wasn't writing the story I thought I was, and everything ground to a halt. Infinite thanks to rivkat for figuring out what was wrong with the engine, to cesperanza for beta in Africa and at home, and to bonehed for choosing to kickstart it for Sweet Charity. I knew that there was a reason that I was up this late! This story is really great, because even though the two Luthors are superfically very different, they're both really the same, right down to the condensation. I love how one of the universal constants is that Clark/Lex = OTP. Also the green/purple lines were a really nice touch. They kept me very amused throughout the whole fic, because OF COURSE Lex is purple and Luthor could never be anything but green. It just seemed so natural.

I'm so glad that you eventually got this finished, even if it did take you a year. It was worth it.

Note to self: as awesome as this story is, you will probably enjoy it even more if you read it when you're not half asleep and if you don't turn off page formatting.

♥ I think I've reached that threshold where I really shouldn't be pretending I'm not reading this fandom. Yay, story! I love this kind of twisted world game, and you even hit my trust kink :D

Luthor reminded me of an extra-cranky Rodney Mckay. They would get along wonderfully.

Great fic and I loved the idea of the two Lex's changing worlds and having to deal with another version of Clark/Superman. I loved the differences each had in their upbringing and the things each brought to their new world. I was very amused at how one world was ending and the other was about to sink into chaos. Loved the Lex's getting together and solving the problems and Lex stealing Mercy.

Heee! More astolat Clex - and dimension-switching no less, which is one of my favorite gags! The green & purple color-coding is way clever, and the contrasts between SV and JLU's Luthors are great fun. From Lex's eidetic memory visualizing in the very beginning, to Luthor's pleasure at working with scientists under his power, it's a fascinating study in the differently directed but matching genius of both. Loved the peeks at their respective pasts, Clark's betrayal, Lena's death. How Luthor lost his hair, heh; and how many times he gets out of jail in classic fashion ( ... )
