Year in Review 2005

Jan 07, 2006 18:22

Well, so now that I have my shiny website all done, I can actually tally up and do the Year in Review meme.

Total tally: 182,472 words in 31 stories. 25 SGA, 2 House, and one apiece in Coldfire, Mr. & Mrs. Smith, Batman Begins, and Lawrence of Arabia.

Um, yeah. So, rather than putting the whole list in here, I will just link to the Read more... )

I hope you write at least 25 more SGA stories this year ;) Seriously, you are an awesome writer, and I will totally stalk you whichever fandoms you go to, but having you writing McShep is just perfect. You have at least three stories in my SGA top-ten.

Transcendental had *kick-ass* plot. I love that about it. I mean, I loved that story anyway (despite my usual lack of interest in power-gaming sex), but it had *plot*, too, and that was just bonus.

And yay, good recs.

Story with single sexiest moment: the first kiss in front of the televisions in A Beautiful Lifetime Event.

That's not just your story, this year with the sexiest moment; that's possibly the single sexiest moment in anything I've ever read. I love it so much; I go back to it in my head all the time: when I'm depressed, when I'm bored, when I'm happy or hungry or...yeah. Thank you so much for that story; I can't and haven't said it enough.

And thank you for the rec, too--that pretty much made my millennium.

So, I'm a bit new to the SGA uni, and I happened over your way by rec of a friend who told me to go read Transcendental. Read it and then sat in front of my comp and thought, "Just once in my life I'd like to be able to write plot like that. Just once." Then went and read it again for the moments that absolutely tore me apart and put me back together again, such as when Rodney starts to dress John down in the cell and John finally gives. But, wow. What an incredibly creative, well-thought out piece ( ... )

I was just reading through some of your older stories and noticed that you haven't wrote any Aubrey/Maturin stuff in a year. I'd love to see some more, particularly a follow-up to "The World Turned Upside Down." Few authors can cpture the feel and style of the original series, and you did it while giving it such a huge AU twist.
