TV Catch Up (Mostly White Collar)

Jul 10, 2011 19:39

Good News: For the first time in weeks I'm not buried in work and am healthy!

Bad News: Life has been very weird and drama filled where I live (though I'm not directly affected). I only mention this as a significant reason(s) as to why I'm nearly two weeks behind in White Collar discussions. Though you may consider yourself spared ( Read more... )

We seem to have the same opinions on most of this. :-)

Yeah, I just don't know about White Collar anymore. In previous seasons, there's been multiple episodes I loved by the 5th episode. This season, not so much. I find it depressing as all get out, honestly.

I'm enjoying Necessary Roughness, partially for the same reasons as I enjoy Royal Pains, as you say, but also because I really like how real Dani is. For a TV character, anyway. ;-)

But! I am liking Burn Notice much better this year than last. I hadn't put a lot of thought into why I was finding it a chore to get through last year, but I think you're right: they really needed to get through the "who burned Michael" thing.

I have to admit I mostly fast-forward through True Blood to get to Eric, these days. I am an Eric/Sookie shipper, thanks to the books, and I absolutely do not want her to take Bill back.

I saw your tweet about Ewan on Graham Norton, but I hadn't seen the show yet. Ewan was awesome. :-) I love him a lot, have for years.

Usually in the first five episodes there might be one ep I'm 'meh' about, so for me to be struggling to one episode I simply like makes me very sad. :(

Dani is pretty cool. I wanted to run the daughter over with a car in the pilot, but she was much less irritating in the second episode. And the son is OK, if underdeveloped. Marc Blucas is, shockingly, not making me want to flip the channel! ;)

Did you see last night's TB yet? I'm tempted to again post about the show. The Eric/Sookie/Pam stuff was terrific! :)

I was just dying watching Ewan reenact that scene! And telling us what he whispered in Christian's ear! O_o If only Christian was there to help him out. ;)

Oh, do post about Sookie/Eric/Pam! I have always loved their dynamics in the books, and I'm very much enjoying them in TB, too. :)

"Next time your hot wife gets lonely, tell her to call me", Peter looked genuinely taken aback.

Because Neal wasn't supposed publicly to mention anything that even hinted at their threesome even as part of a sting cover. ;)

the flashbacks were pretty darn adorable (OMG! Baby Mozzie!)

The kids they cast were perfect!

I had a hard time believing O'Leary so easily fell into such an obvious trap.

ITA, but I loved all the character moments so much I didn't care. :)

if this is just Neal moving on from Kate and Sara hooking up with a hot guy then I have nothing to complain about.

I think it's a fun fling for Sara, but that Neal cooking dinner for her was his attempt to explore the possibility of something more. (And possibly an attempt to get her to eat more!) I think he really wants what Peter and El have, and actually wants a relationship more than he wants a relationship specifically with Sara ( ... )

I agree. They've shown Neal longing to have what Peter and El have and Neal believed he would eventually have that with Kate. I also feel Neal's a serial monogamist rather than that guy who is going to pick up a different girl each night just to get laid. With his looks and charm he could certainly do it if he wanted to! So, Sara is allowing for him to move on and not be alone and have some fun. But given his reaction when he first met Kate and how his 'relationship' with Sara is proceeding (or not), it's pretty clear she's not The One. However, I could see him attempting the whole dating thing with Sara just to make absolutely sure he's right.

(And possibly an attempt to get her to eat more!)

I wish! :(

starting with Neal goading Peter into volunteering for the auction by asking if he'd need to get Elizabeth's permission first. I thought that was dumb. I mean, Peter has gone undercover ( ... )

Even with the anklet?

On the flip side, I was revolted by the Jason storyline. UGH.

That really bothered me too! If they have Jason forgive Crystal, and still want a relationship with her after this I won't be watching this show anymore.

Have you seen the poll on whether to keep the new WC opening credits or go back to the old one? Since you've been swamped with work I thought you might have missed it.

Saw it. Voted. For the old titles. ;) Actually, there was foul play and robo-voting (or something similar) was going on for the new title sequence. USA Network got wind and have since fixed it.

Re: White Collar -- OMG the jealous wife thing was driving me crazy. They're both intelligent people. Peter has gone undercover before. This seemed so out of character for both of them! Peter can be smart enough to catch Neal, but not smart enough to faux flirt? Initially it was kind of charming at the 'event' -- but afterward, COME ON. He's NOT that awkward. And Elizabeth would NEVER interfere in an investigation or get mad at Peter for playing a part. How stupid!

Re: Burn Notice -- All of a sudden he's having crazy nightmares and obsessive behavior about the people that burned him? Really? He's only been dealing with it for 4 years, but NOW? Now it's driving him over the edge? WTF...

Stupid.

The nightmares were a bit WTF? I guess an argument could be made his subconscious was pressing him to complete the mission to find out who burned him and why, but it's stretching it.
