'Drive' Bye and the Weekend TV Wrap Up

Apr 15, 2007 21:25

I hope people enjoy Drive and for Nathan and Tim's sake I hope they have a hit, but the show is not for me. Putting aside some writing issues I have, my big problem is that I have a big problem with reckless drivers. So watching a show where innocent bystanders can get hurt and killed is not entertaining to me ( Read more... )

The Doctor said that the giant crabs fed off of the exhaust. So, with the motorway clear, they would die, I think.

Your probably correct, but it just seemed like they were forgotten. And wouldn't the rotting corpses stink up the place as much as the exhaust?

You know how in film you might say 'It's Phantom Menace bad' well for TV shows I'm using 'It's Painkiller Jane bad.'

Hee. I've read the odd not-so-impressed review, but this convinces me I really needn't bother with the DLing.

Yay for mini-breaks! :-)

I really don't think you'd like it. And shouldn't you be catching up on BSG missy? ;p

Have fun in Chicago! Will you be seeing Lynn & Cindy?

I don't have the emotional energy to watch a show like "Drive" even though people are saying it's a good one.

Looking forward to another new "House" this week!

Actually, 'Drive' felt like a very lethargic show to me which is odd considering the subject matter.

Not only will I be seeing Lynn and Cindy, writteninstars and I will be staying with them for a couple of nights. :)

Maybe I have low standards, but I found PKJ to be fine enough; anything that isn't a CSI knockoff is good enough to be watchable for me these days.

Seeing Acker as Fillion's wife was weirdly unsettling. Also, all black people are expendibale, but we expect points just for casting them.

I hope Dr. Who didn't blow their entire budget on that ep.

Fred married to Mal was weird. And it's kind of a thankless role for Amy unless they go the 'Lost' route and do flashbacks.

I'd take a CSI and L&O weekend marathon over another ep of PKJ. Though I did enjoy mocking every last second of it. :)

You're okay with vampires willynilly killing innnocents, but reckless driving is cause for concern?

Point being, it's all fictional...entertainment purposes only. Besides, I liked it a bunch and I wanna know what writing ticked you off.

But vampires aren't real and reckless, speeding drivers are and since I've known people hurt by them I just can't see the entertainment value in the subject matter. Putting that aside, it's too thin a premise to sustain a series, the chase sequences were boring, and the characters were all cliches. I expect better from Minear.

I just saw the ratings for the premiere - don't get too attached!
