Well, life's been going on and time passing quickly. It's been quite an Alan Garner month and while I've thought my way through many posts here I've not actually written any of them down

That all sounds fascinating. It really is about time I went back and reread all of his books that I read when I was a child. There's a half-hour interview with him here, recorded when the University of Warwick awarded him an honorary doctorate last year. Amongst other things, he remarks that the personality of Malebron in Elidor was inspired by Jacob Epstein's statue of St Michael at Coventry Cathedral.

Sounds Fab! And oooh, now I have another new author to look up. I am trying to expand my reading list and get out of the ruts I've been in. Always love it when friends give author/book info. :)
