I've been reading a bit more than usual and need to share some thoughts about a fabulous book given to me (THANK YOU xx) by fjm. I'm often nervous of books other people tell me is truly great because in some way I imagine I won't "get it" or won't find it such a mind blowing experience as I should - but that's just me

Not just you - I've read (or tried to read) some very highly-recommended books that I found to be dull and sometimes badly written. Similarly I've lent beloved favourites to friends/family and felt disappointed when they didn't appreciate them in the same way I did.

Tell Nimbus she spelled '6666666666666666y7' wrong. It should be ''66666666666666ty7'. Cats, you can't teach them anything.

I'm quite cautious these days about telling people something is a really good read because they almost certainly read and are disappointed - or think I'm mad. I imagine we all have our own favourite way to be told a story so some styles will appeal to people in different ways.
