Greetings -- and a request for book/resource recommendations

Hello, all. I am in the process of getting my 6 year-old an official diagnosis. During this process I have ended up self-diagnosing/suspecting that my husband and I are both "Aspies" as well, or at least really darn close to it ( Read more... )

Obviously YMMV, but I found Rudy Simone helpful from a female perspective, and I also like Tony Attwood's writing style. To be honest though, I sometimes suspect I learnt more by reading historical novels, set in eras where the social rules were more rigid and unforgiving :)

A couple of good books for women, that I've found very useful:-

The Independent Woman's Handbook for Super Safe Living on the Autistic Spectrum by Robyn Steward

and

Women and Girls with Autism Spectrum Disorder: Understanding life experiences from early childhood to old age by Sarah Hendrickx
