Hello, all. I am in the process of getting my 6 year-old an official diagnosis. During this process I have ended up self-diagnosing/suspecting that my husband and I are both "Aspies" as well, or at least really darn close to it.
While reading a number of helping-kids-with-Aspergers books, I have had so many moments of embarrassed, facepalm-ing, headdesk-ing realization. "Really?! This is how this works!? Damn it!! Why didn't anyone tell me!?" Everything from how and when to give thank yous to the difference between a friend and an acquaintance.
(Does anyone else have this kind of experience?)
So my question: are there any good rule books or resources you can recommend to help decode the world of NT social rules for adults? I'm enjoying Jennifer Cook O'Toole's books ATM, but they are definitely targeted toward adults helping kids or teens.
