Does anyone here have problems with coming across as too intense or aggressive?  My family says that I intimidate people because I am too aggressive.  I have tried to not do this, but I can't figure out what it is that I am doing wrong.   I have asked my family to explain what I am doing wrong, but I just don't understand why people feel the way ( Read more... )

I get told I'm intense all the time, but I think it depends on the situation for me. Sometimes I seem more laidback or gentle.

I'd been told that i am a blunt person... i tend to say what is but at the same time find it hard to get into conversations.

Too intense, yes. Too aggressive, no, not usually. But I do get arrogant and judgmental - even if I don't open my mouth. shrug

I can be aggressive, but more irritating (for me and for others :P) is that I have a tendency to 'steamroll' people who are excessively polite in speaking up for themselves. :P

I used to, when I was half the age I am now. And when I was half that age, strangers would cross the street to avoid me. Over the years, I've learned not to have that effect on people, at least for the most part, but it was such a slow and subtle process that I can't list the elements for you. I'm still direct and honest, so I can tell you it's not that.
