Howdy, long-time lurker, first-time poster (LTLFTP) here. I don't think anyone's posted this yet:

Karen McCarron was sentenced to 36 years in prison for the murder of her 3-year-old autistic daughter Katie. Not a bad way to kick off Autism Awareness Month.

I hadn't heard about this. It is so sad... my uninformed guess there is that the mom had serious unattended mental health issues. :( Nothing could ever excuse such an act, of course.

As a mother, I cannot fathom *anything* my kids, either the aspie one or the apparently NT one, could possibly, ever, ever, do, to send me to that place. It is so hard for me to imagine it. Can't go there.
