This is really good. The sex is well-portrayed, non-gratuitous and well-embedded in the story; the characterisation's great, and I love the writing style. If I were inclined to nitpick at anything I'd wonder if Wylla was being too non-deferential to Ned for the feudal society they're in - but, hey, it works really well. Massive kudos to you, mystery author. :)

Concurring the above, this is so very well written, paced, and all the elements flow together beautifully. I love the personality you gave Wylla, it foils Ned's in all the ways appropriate for this request. It was cool to see Ned's interest in being a father grow as well, and the sense of gratitude to Wylla was touching. They'll never see each other again, but she meant a lot to him through this random unexpected crossing of their paths. Great job.

Argh, I knew, I KNEW my gift would have come the day I have zero time to spend on the internet! So I saved it for when I can enjoy it properly, but I gave it a fast read anyway (lol no self control) and already fell in love with it, guh. Ned is so very... Ned, and I mean this in the best possible way, and Wylla is just like I imagined her - down to earth and caring. I also loved how you gave her closure, I honestly had forgotten about the husband mentioned earlier in the fic - it's like Chekhov's gun! XD And Ned having guilt trips about it, awww.

He feared the noise she made when she climaxed might wake the baby, but thankfully it slept soundly through the disruption.
