To hear them tell it, it's always necessary. If they don't just beat you and take what they want, they'll whine about how badly it aches until you give in just to shut them up..."
Oh, too true. Neat way to fit this in and put it in the words and tone of the universe.

Lol, Ned!sex. There's something hilarious about it - don't get me wrong, it's v. IC and very well-written. Great story!

This is a very interesting, insightful, and funny picture of Ned as a young man, particularly in the sense that he was always the honorable, formal, mildly cool and distant figure that he is when we first meet him in the books, and yet even in that is still possessed of a surprising degree of personal warmth and kindness. I also liked how you portrayed Wylla; in fact, this seems to me to probably be more or less how the business probably went. And Wylla's forwardness can likely be attributed to the fact that she's probably Dornish. She may be a Stone Dornishwoman, but she's still Dornish (I've often wondered where the line is drawn between Marcher men from the Reach and the Stormlands who live in the mountains and Dornishmen who live in the mountains; it seems that whatever the dividing line or the mark of difference is, it is very noticeable. Probably like the dividing line between Norway and Sweden, come to think of it ( ... )
