Yesterday, I thawed out some chicken in the microwave. I only cooked two pieces because I have a toaster oven, and that's all I could fit, and I didn't have energy to keep nuking food all night. I put the other pieces in the fridge. The sites that explained how to thaw in the microwave said all pieces had to be cooked right away ( Read more... )

If you cook them all the way through now you should be fine, it's more a quality issue than a health one.

You had better throw it out. Food poisoning isn't worth it, just make sure you buy the individually wrapped pieces next time. They're really not that much more expensive.

I bought a freezer pack like a couple of months back to save money. Not a good idea as I am the only person in the house, and I learned I hate cooking chicken . Now I have a shit ton of chicken in my house that I don't know what to do with, lol.

But yeah, from now on, I'm just going to buy meat once a week or daily. It'd be easier to just take food from the fridge to wherever.

Or separate out the meat in portions before freezing! That way, you can benefit from the savings and don't have to throw out food that you thawed but didn't get to use.

The problem with thawing in the microwave, is that some parts will start cooking before the rest of the chicken is thawed... which is kind of gross. If you need to quickly thaw something, run cold water over them for 20 minutes or so. Not hot, as that'll have the same effect as microwave thawing.

Yeah, I know that already, but when you're anemia is bad, you don't really want to wait to be able to eat. I almost passed out earlier in the day while in the line to vote. I needed to eat fast.

I do, but since I take the bus, I'm always afraid of my seafood going bad while I'm in the middle of getting it home. I prefer beef and seafood to everything and wouldn't mind becoming a pescatarian.

I'd cook it and eat it.

I'd eat it, but I'd cut it up into pieces if I was cooking it again, just to make sure. By that, I mean, chop it up, then cook, then eat.
